Exporting Analytics Data

Download your analytics data as a CSV file for reporting and analysis.

Exporting Analytics Data

While the Leenkies analytics dashboard gives you a powerful in-app view of your performance data, there are times when you need your data outside of Leenkies -- for monthly reports, client presentations, spreadsheet analysis, or comparison across time periods. The export feature lets you download your analytics data as a CSV file that you can open in any spreadsheet application or import into your reporting tools.

How to Export Your Data

Exporting your analytics data takes just a few steps:

  1. Navigate to Analytics from the sidebar.
  2. Set your time period by selecting 7 days, 14 days, or 30 days from the time period selector at the top of the dashboard. The exported file will contain data for whichever period you have selected.
  3. Optionally filter by page type if you want to export data for a specific page (Home, About, Shop, or Portfolio) rather than all pages combined. If you leave the filter set to "All," the export will include aggregated data across all your pages.
  4. Click the Export button. Your browser will download a CSV file containing the analytics data for the selected period and filter.

Set your desired time period and optional page filter, then click Export to download your data as a CSV file.

Pro Tip: To create a comprehensive monthly report, set the time period to 30 days, leave the page filter on "All," and click Export. This gives you a complete snapshot of your performance for the past month in a single file.

What Is Included in the Export

The exported CSV file contains daily aggregated data for the selected time period. Each row represents one day, and the columns include all the metrics available on your dashboard:

  • Date -- The specific day the data corresponds to.
  • Page Views -- The total number of page views for that day.
  • Unique Visitors -- The number of distinct visitors for that day.
  • Clicks -- The total number of clicks on page elements for that day.
  • Device Breakdown -- The split of traffic across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices for that day.
  • Top Links -- The most-clicked links and their click counts for that day.
  • Top Countries -- The countries visitors came from and their view counts for that day.
  • Top Referrers -- The referring domains and their visit counts for that day.

The CSV format is universally compatible and can be opened directly in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, LibreOffice Calc, or any other spreadsheet application. You can also import it into data analysis tools like Tableau, Looker, or custom scripts for more advanced analysis.

Use Cases for Exporting Data

Monthly Reporting

Download your analytics at the end of each month to build a performance archive. Over time, you will accumulate a history of monthly exports that lets you track long-term growth trends that are not visible within the 30-day window of the in-app dashboard. Store each monthly export in a dedicated folder and use your spreadsheet application to chart trends across months.

Comparing Time Periods

Export data for two different periods and place them side by side in a spreadsheet to compare performance. For example, export the 30-day data at the end of January and again at the end of February, then compare page views, CTR, and top referrers to see how your performance has changed. This kind of period-over-period analysis helps you understand whether your efforts are producing results.

Sharing with Your Team or Clients

If you work with a team, a manager, or clients who need visibility into your page performance, the CSV export is the easiest way to share data. Attach the file to an email, drop it into a shared Google Drive folder, or import it into a shared dashboard tool. The recipient does not need a Leenkies account to view and analyze the data.

Building Custom Dashboards

For power users, the CSV export serves as a data source for custom dashboards and reports. Import the data into Google Sheets and build formulas, pivot tables, and charts tailored to your specific reporting needs. Combine Leenkies analytics data with data from other platforms to get a unified view of your online performance.

Pro Tip: Set a recurring calendar reminder to export your analytics on the first of every month. This ensures you always have a complete historical record of your performance data, even if you change your Leenkies plan or make significant changes to your pages.
