Creating Short Links
Short links turn any long URL into a clean, trackable leenkies.com/l/abc123 link that works anywhere -- social media bios, email signatures, flyers, business cards, QR codes, and more. Every short link automatically tracks clicks so you can measure how much traffic each link drives.
Common Use Cases
Short links are useful for social media (cleaner URLs with click tracking), print materials (easy to type), business cards (compact and trackable), email campaigns (per-link engagement tracking), and campaign comparison (unique link per channel).
How to Create a Short Link
- From your dashboard, click Create in the sidebar.
- Select Links to go to the short links section.
- Click Create Short Link to open the creation form.
- Enter the destination URL -- any valid URL (webpage, file download, video, social post, etc.).
- Leenkies automatically generates a unique six-character code -- no customization needed.
- Click Create. Your short link is immediately active.

Enter your destination URL and Leenkies generates a unique short link code automatically. Click Create to activate it.
Copying Your Short Link
- Find your short link in the links list.
- Click the copy icon next to the URL.
- The full URL (e.g.,
leenkies.com/l/abc123) is copied to your clipboard.
Pro Tip: Paste your new short link into a browser to verify it redirects correctly before sharing it publicly.
Smart Deduplication
If you try to create a short link for a URL that already has one, Leenkies will notify you and show the existing link instead of creating a duplicate. This prevents split analytics from multiple links pointing to the same destination.
If you genuinely need multiple short links to the same URL (e.g., to track different campaigns), you can still create them -- Leenkies just makes sure you're aware of the existing link first.
Bot Filtering
Leenkies automatically filters bot traffic (web crawlers, link preview generators, security scanners) from your short link analytics. Click counts reflect genuine human engagement only.
Pro Tip: Create a dedicated short link for each platform where you share content -- one for your Instagram bio, another for Twitter, both pointing to the same page. This lets you compare click performance across platforms.
