Viewing Invoices

Access your billing history and download PDF invoices for expense tracking and tax purposes.

Viewing Invoices

Leenkies automatically generates an invoice for every payment you make, giving you a complete billing history that you can access at any time. Whether you need invoices for expense tracking, tax reporting, or sharing with your accountant, the Billing page makes it easy to find, review, and download every invoice as a PDF.

Navigating to Your Billing History

To access your invoices:

  1. From your dashboard, click Billing in the sidebar navigation.
  2. Scroll down past the current plan card to the Billing History section.
  3. The billing history displays a chronological list of all your past invoices, with the most recent invoice at the top.

The Billing History section lists all your invoices in reverse chronological order, making it easy to find any past payment.

Invoice Information

Each invoice in your billing history displays the following information:

  • Date -- The date the payment was processed. This corresponds to the billing cycle start date for subscription payments.

  • Amount -- The total amount charged for that invoice, displayed in the currency your subscription is billed in. This includes the plan price and any applicable taxes.

  • Status -- The current status of the invoice. The most common statuses you will see are:

    • Paid -- The payment was successfully processed and the invoice is settled.
    • Open -- The invoice has been generated but payment has not yet been received. This can happen if a payment attempt is pending or if there is an issue with your payment method.
    • Void -- The invoice was cancelled and no payment was collected. This can occur when a subscription change results in a prorated adjustment.

The status indicators are color-coded so you can quickly scan your billing history and identify any invoices that may need attention.

Downloading PDF Invoices

You can download any invoice as a professionally formatted PDF document:

  1. In the Billing History section, find the invoice you want to download.
  2. Click the download link or icon next to the invoice entry.
  3. Your browser will download the PDF invoice file, which you can then save, print, or share as needed.

The PDF invoice includes all the details you would expect from a professional invoice: your account information, the invoice date, the billing period, the plan description, the amount charged, any taxes applied, and the payment method used. The format is suitable for submitting to your employer for reimbursement, attaching to expense reports, or providing to your accountant.

Each PDF invoice contains complete billing details suitable for expense tracking and tax reporting.

Pro Tip: Download your invoices promptly after each billing cycle and store them in a dedicated folder on your computer or cloud storage. This makes it much easier to find them later during tax season or when preparing financial reports.

Auto-Generated by Stripe

All Leenkies invoices are automatically generated and managed by Stripe, the payment processing platform that handles Leenkies subscriptions. This means:

  • Invoices are created automatically with every successful payment. You do not need to request them or take any action to generate them.

  • Invoice details are accurate and consistent, pulled directly from the payment transaction data.

  • Invoices are available immediately after each payment is processed. As soon as a charge goes through, the corresponding invoice appears in your billing history.

  • The PDF format is standard and professional, suitable for any accounting system or financial reporting requirement.

You do not need to interact with Stripe directly to access your invoices. Everything is available through the Leenkies Billing page.

Use Cases for Invoices

Expense Tracking

If Leenkies is a business expense, keeping a record of your invoices is essential for tracking your software costs. Download each invoice as it arrives and log it in your expense tracking system. The invoice amount, date, and description provide all the information you need for accurate record-keeping.

Tax Reporting

Depending on your jurisdiction, software subscription costs may be tax-deductible as a business expense. Your Leenkies invoices serve as official receipts that document your subscription payments. Provide them to your tax preparer or accountant along with your other business expenses at the end of the fiscal year.

Accounting and Bookkeeping

For businesses that maintain formal financial records, Leenkies invoices can be imported into accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or FreshBooks) as expense entries. The PDF format is widely accepted by these platforms, either through direct upload or manual entry based on the invoice details.

Reimbursement

If your employer or client covers the cost of your Leenkies subscription, the PDF invoice serves as the documentation needed to submit a reimbursement request. Attach the invoice to your expense report along with any other required documentation.

Pro Tip: If you need to share your billing history with a bookkeeper or accountant who does not have access to your Leenkies account, download all relevant invoices as PDFs and send them in a batch. This is faster and more reliable than granting account access.
